About the Project

ChildFund is an independent and non-religious international development organisation that works to reduce poverty for children. ChildFund began work in Papua New Guinea in 1994, and undertakes child-focused community development programs, including a focus on child protection. One of the aims of this program is to support youth-led education and advocacy to raise community awareness of child protection-related rights, responsibilities and processes that are enshrined in legislation.

Storyscape facilitated a 5-day participatory filmmaking workshop supporting 12 young leaders to share their views and make films about child protection issues and solutions. We also trained two local filmmakers in participatory video methods, so they can continue to run these types of projects in PNG.
